Fall is definitely here, the weather's finally cooler, the air has that cold-scent tang hiding among the smell of green leaves, and the skies are becoming more and more cobalt and less and less sky blue.
There is absolutely nothing better in the fall than to have in one hand a fat book, and in the other a steaming cup of tea or coffee or hot chocolate so deep it goes on forever.
I'm not the first one to think so either.

So, if you had all the money that you needed and all the time in the world, what would be your book of choice for an October all-day read?
And what would you be drinking?
For me, it would be:
The Vanishing Sculptor by: Donita Paul and I'd be drinking Mint Hot Chocolate from Starbucks.
That's the ONLY beverage I ever order from them, and since it's seasonal, I can only get it in November/December.

I've been finishing Eye of the Oracle by Bryan Davis, and it'd be better if I start reading one rather then finish one. So, after I finish that one it would probably be Curse of the Spider King by Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper with some nice hot chocolate, but it has to be REALLY cold since I live in Florida and rarely do we get cold enough weather for hot chocolate other then in the winter.

You must be down in southern Florida, I've got a former coworker who grew up in Northern Florida (don't ask me where, it's been a while since I've seen her) and she used to talk about getting frost in her gardens and even some jacket weather breath-seeing days. I remember being shocked :-D
Yeah, we get that sometimes, but rarely other then the winter, but those are such precious times. I can't wait until Thanksgiving! Our whole extended family goes up to Georgia to a cabin in the middle of the woods with a lake out in front of it. It's all of 45 acres and I can't wait to get a good long book and sit down outside and read. Then go and grab a laptop and write.
Ahhh, that's the best, the book inspiring and spurring on the writer!
Unfortunately, the nice coolness of the weather is lost on me since I was out in the 60 degree weather in shorts and a short sleeve shirt playing soccer :P.
My ideal book would probably be Curse of the Spider King.
and to drink would probably be hot chocolate or (I think it's called mulled cider, don't get mad at me if that's wrong and it turns out to be some sort of alcoholic beverage (what I'm thinking of isn't))

And yeah, Millard, they are. :-D I feel like a kid with the keys to the toy store!
Bryan was very kind, and offered to stop by for a signing if we wanted to have him (insert maniacal laughter here) and so, I have Wayne and Christopher and then Bryan. *whew* I'm getting a tad worn though. Maybe more than a tad? It's alot of work promoting and decorating and coordinating stuff. Anyone feel like praying for me, and for them and those that attend the events, I'd be no end grateful.
This month I want to read short stories for a change and already checked out a nice fat book of them from the library. I drink tea and hot chocolate year round, cider when it's available, and some mint hot chocolate sounds really good right now.
