Autum Rest

Mom took me out today.

I needed to get away. Away from computers.

And the internet.

And all the craziness at work, with coworkers and customers.

I needed to get away. Away from doubts, and fears, away from the sense of unrest that's been plaguing me. I'm glad I have a friend in my Mom, who can see that I'm worn down and need a respite.

But I have another Friend, one who offers rest even in the middle of my toil. One who offers a rest that settles in my bones even in the middle of toil. Today was a gift from Him, too. And so is this promise:

"...Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 NASB
