Character Developement

When I was younger I loved developing characters. I'd sit there and web character points for hours, making up and discovering every last thing about of one of my paper tigers. I knew what the looked like, what they wore, what they were allergic to, what they feared, what they day dreamed about, their favorite color, least favorite animal. . .etc .. But somewhere along the line, it got hammered into my head that these were 'wastes' of time when I could be advancing my plot. So now, with a weekend ahead of my I sit with my blank Word Document open and watch the curser blink as I try and recapture the desire to know just what it is that makes my paper tigers tick.

Don't fear I'm sure you will, just give yourself some time:). I'm going to a puddle duck racer meeting this weekend. So we both have fun things going, Though...I have 4hrs of car wheel baring replacement on the morrow.
GOOD Luck With the tiger, I'm not much of a writer, but I love to spin yarns, Start at the begining what the tigers name, color, let him develope on his own. Just my musings perhaps of no use but HAVE FUN!. Perhaps I will try writing one of these days, as it seems like ALL of the people in this hunt do.

Scribe, I have no advice for you, as I believe you already know what to do. As a fellow writer, let me at least encourage you to never give up. And pray for creativity, for He who created it can bestow it.
You know all this and it was not my intent to lecture. My original plan was to tell you how impressed I am with your blog and how glad I am to have come across it through The Underground. I hope one day I shall be able to visit your bookstore, for it sounds simply wonderful. Perhaps to do a book signing? *smiles and laughs* I hope to meet you in person someday, but if not, then I look forward to speaking with you in our Father's Mansion.
Thank you for all your kind advice both here and Underground; I already count you as a friend. May the Author guide your pen.

Thanks for the encouragement Millard! I needed some today. I hope that you did well at the puddle duck racer meeting and that the four hours of car wheel baring weren't totally exhausting. *psst* Hey, Millard, what's a puddle duck racer?

Storyteller, thanks! Thanks for the reminder, and for the compliment! I vacillate between asking for His help and knowing that He's all ready given me the creativity and desire--it's up to me to set aside the time and use the tools. :-P And I hope you will visit the store especially if it's for your own book signing. Though if I get this story written, you might have a chance to see me there too, at MY own book signing. :-D

Yes, you are correct; He has indeed already given us everything we need, though I believe He wishes us to ask Him at times.

Perhaps we shall have a "double author feature!" *laughs* I hope I will be able to read your book someday.

Puddle duck racers are "odd" little sail boats. You should check them out. You can build a fully working one for like 100 bucks!
